Elvaco supports utilities and real-estate companies in the implementation of metering projects. Elvaco sees itself as a full-range supplier that combines a wide variety of products, services and competences in one portfolio. From high-quality meters, sensors and measuring devices to meter connectivity modules and accessories, we offer a selected product range of items from renowned premium manufacturers. To interconnect the individual components of the metering system, a comprehensive infrastructure is used that is based on the state-of-the-art technologies
M-Bus, LoRaWAN and NB-IoT. These technologies enable remote reading of a wide range of meters using reliable network protocols. Our portfolio in the field of metering is completed by our in-house software solution Elvaco Evo. It visualises the collected metering data and also simplifies data export, billing and analysis. International standards are met in terms of data integrity and security, with full interoperability on the meter agnostic platform. Our One-Touch Commissioning solution is unique. By using device specific encryption keys, Elvaco One-Touch Commissioning assures that the products are deployed in a secure way.
As an established company in the energy measurement and optimisation industry, we are known for reliable and customer-oriented solutions. From our headquarters in Kungsbacka, Sweden and our local sales offices in Germany, Spain and Great Britain, we organise projects throughout Europe as well as in the Middle East and North America. Large energy suppliers and real estate companies rely on Elvaco's expertise. In the meantime, more than ten million metering devices have been implemented into an Elvaco infrastructure. Through our independent communication solutions, we create possibilities for the collection, evaluation and presentation of metering data that open up for better decision-making. The journey of Elvaco
Elvaco was founded 1984 by Vaclav Vonasek who was a dedicated entrepreneur and specialist within electronics and embedded solutions. During the first 15 years, Elvaco delivered hundreds of projects with a wide variety of technologies and customer bases. This first 15 years built up the technological experience which lead to converting the business from a consultant company to a product company.
The first products delivered to the metering business segment was in 1986. It was first a consultant business which in the end lead to our upcoming generations of products and solutions, which guided the development of the business we can see today. In the late 90's, Elvaco made a strategic choice to close down the consultant business and become a 100% product company. The next generation of Elvaco metering solutions were introduced into the market. The solution was based on 2G (GPRS) and 444 MHz radio together with the M-Bus metering protocol.
The business between 2000 and 2007 were still moderate and customers were located in the south of Sweden. In 2007, Elvaco made a new strategic change of creating solutions which should be completely open and standardized. Between 2008 and 2011, Elvaco started to deliver the new metering platform, CM Series, which opened up the business both locally and globally. Together with large meter manufacturers as partners, Elvaco started to deliver thousands of metering gateways with a rapid growth.
To maintain stable growth and invest even more in the export market, the Vonasek family decided to find a long term investment partner to continue the successful journey. In 2014, Investment AB Latour acquired Elvaco AB. Investment AB Latour is a long term stable industrial investment company with a head office in Gothenburg. The development of the business has been even more intense together with Latour and in 2021, Elvaco has ~ 60 employees and reaches over 16 million euros in revenue. Our business today is built on the foundations for a sustainable world and with dedicated management and employees, we are looking into the future with confidence!
