Another meter connectivity module with NB-IoT technology is now ready for serial production.
Iceland's largest energy supplier, Veitur, is digitalising its energy network with a state-of-the-art smart metering solution. Elvaco is proud to be part of this overall solution!
The utility company Veitur in Reykjavík relies on Iskraemeco's smart overall solution. Water and heat meters are supplied by Diehl Metering and Elvaco has a not inconsiderable part in this, as the meters are equipped with Elvaco's CMi6160 Meter Connectivity Module. The module communicates via NB-IoT and is completely battery-powered with a lifetime of up to 13 years. Additionally, our CMi6160 NB-IoT modules are now available with internal antenna.
The CMi6160 is characterised by a long communication range and high energy efficiency, thus ensuring longest application in the field. The NB-IoT technology combined with Elvaco's IoT know-how enables reading in hard-to-reach meter installation locations, for example basements, where other technologies, such as LTE (4G), reach their technical limits. With the integrated Eco Mode, the innovative combination of the open standard M-Bus and the optimisation of the data telegrams, we achieve the highest possible service life.
The usage of smart meters is an important enabler in the development of sustainable utility and energy systems, which governments all over the world have called for. Smart and communicating meters offer several benefits for customers, society and the environment. With our products, we support customers on their way to digitalisation in order to ensure energy and Co2 savings.
